This project is inspired by one of my personal favorite pieces of music, Palladio by Karl Jenkins. The piece has accompanied me throughout my life. I once played it in an orchestra, and I have never forgotten it since. Its three parts immediately sparked the idea of creating a collection with three sections. I envisioned men with strong, dramatic strides and imposing figures coming toward me. I started to research the composer, Karl Jenkins, and the inspiration behind his composition. I was struck by how thoughtful Karl Jenkins’ piece was. He had an in-depth understanding of his inspiration, Andrea Palladio, an Italian Renaissance architect from Venice. And this led me to the architectural aspect of the collection which I was able to incorporate with pleats and plisse.
